Meanwhile, Shades Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Park Crossing, falling 18-4. That's two games in a row now that the Mounties have lost by exactly 14 runs.
Shades Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Scott, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were Scott's first of the season. Eli Nelson was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Mortimer Jordan now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Shades Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Shades Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mortimer Jordan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. It's a different story for Shades Valley, though, as they've only hit 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain Mortimer Jordan's hitters?
