The Westminster Academy Lions and the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors (ranked 45 and 70 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game. Westminster Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Orlando Christian Prep on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Westminster Academy has posted since December 2, 2023.
Westminster Academy was led to victory by Alexander Lloyd and Alex Constanza. Lloyd scored 26 points, while Constanza dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Constanza hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Wimbley jr., who scored nine points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Orlando Christian Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ameer Ramadan, who scored 17 points. Marc Ekiri was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Westminster Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-5. As for Orlando Christian Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
Westminster Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they will face off against Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 611 points over their last ten contests.
