The Owen Warhorses can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 52-9 victory over NCSSM: Morganton. That 43 points margin sets a new team best for Owen this season.
Among those leading the charge was Ellie Martin, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Roland, who scored nine points.
Owen's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for NCSSM: Morganton, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owen and Avery County will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Avery County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Owen in North Carolina (Avery County is ranked 249th, while Owen is ranked 536th). As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will head out on the road to challenge Draughn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
