Highland has gone a perfect 6-0 against Virginia Episcopal School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Hawks will challenge the Bishops at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Highland 3.7, Virginia Episcopal School 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Highland got a good showing from Liam Bunner, who struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bunner has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ethan Hudson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gunning, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Virginia Episcopal School had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Caissons. The Bishops might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
Campbell Howard and Caden Godsie did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Godsie went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Godsie has posted since back in March. Johnson Sun also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Virginia Episcopal School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Highland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Virginia Episcopal School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Highland was able to grind out a solid win over Virginia Episcopal School in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
