Baseball Recap: Shiocton Has No Trouble Against Mishicot

Shiocton had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Mishicot Indians. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Chiefs this season.

As for Mishicot, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Mishicot's part, Brogan Wasurick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Mishicot saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jax Vogel, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was Vogel's first of the season. Another was Daryn Smith, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Looking ahead, Shiocton will be playing in front of their home fans against Weyauwega-Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mishicot, they will face off against Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
