Highland proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted since April 18, 2024.

Highland's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Sinclair, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sinclair has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Joseph Sprinkle also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Highland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cedar Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will square off against Cotter at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cedar Ridge, they will take on Izard County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Timberwolves 3.9, the Cougars 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
