Chandler has gone a perfect 6-0 against Pinnacle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Chandler is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Cesar Chavez: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolves blew the Champions out of the water with a 49-7 final score. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Will Mencl was his usual excellent self, throwing for 321 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. A healthy portion of Mencl's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Jayden Spann, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Pinnacle made sure to put some points up on the board against Valley Vista on Thursday. The Pioneers claimed a resounding 61-0 win over the Monsoon. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Monsoon are ranked 82nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chandler better keep an eye on Jackson Reader. He was instrumental in Pinnacle's win, rushing for 76 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 52 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 74 yards. Matt Blaylock was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and a pair of TDs.
Pinnacle didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Valley Vista to a completion percentage of just 48.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Ian Fullmer, Brayden Fricke, Cole Nickell, and Alex Lugo, who each logged one passes deflected. The last time Pinnacle's completion percentage was this high was back in November of 2024.
Pinnacle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Fricke, Lugo, and Kash Silva picked up one apiece.
Chandler's record is now 7-1. As for Pinnacle, their record now sits at 6-2.
Chandler strolled past Pinnacle when the teams last played back in October of 2021 by a score of 35-19. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
