The Georgetown G-Men fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Bethel-Tate Tigers on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 61-52 to the Tigers. Georgetown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bethel-Tate apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Georgetown still got an impressive performance from Morgan Preston, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Josie Mckibben was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Georgetown's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Bethel-Tate, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Georgetown will be playing in front of their home fans against East Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bethel-Tate, they will head out on the road to square off against Ludlow at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ludlow will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
