The St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals entered their tilt with the Cranston West Falcons with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. St. Mary Academy-Bay View took down Cranston West 49-32 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as St. Mary Academy-Bay View also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saniyya Chase, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Chase has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Buco, who scored nine points.
St. Mary Academy-Bay View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Cranston West, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary Academy-Bay View will take on St. Raphael Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Raphael Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cranston West, they will head out on the road to take on Ponaganset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponaganset will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
