The Terrell County Greenwave came tearing into Saturday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 38-33 win over Westover. For Terrell County, this counts as revenge for the 49-46 defeat the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Terrell County had a senior duo take command as Ciara Harvey scored ten points and Tadreuna Rogers scored ten points.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada Landers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Landers hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Sydney Donaldson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Terrell County is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Westover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
Terrell County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westover and the Raiders will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Shaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
