The Moorestown Quakers will face off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moorestown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Moorestown took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Bishop Eustace Prep 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won six in a row.
Emily Cougle was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Marta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Baylee D'Angelo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Moorestown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cherokee waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Renegades.
Like Moorestown, Cherokee also got a great game from a two-way player: Allison Cunane. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Cunane was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Merente was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cali Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Moorestown's win bumped their record up to 8-11-1. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Everything went Moorestown's way against Cherokee when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Moorestown made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Quakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chiefs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
