Eisenhower and Iroquois are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Eisenhower Knights will be playing at home against the Iroquois Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Iroquois took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Eisenhower, who comes in off a win.
Eisenhower fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Northwestern with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 26-8.
Logan Penley and Tucker Lindell were among the main playmakers for Eisenhower as the former rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Iroquois' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mercyhurst Prep, falling 66-0. While losing is never fun, Iroquois can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Mercyhurst Prep is ranked 213th).
Eisenhower's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 5-3. Iroquois has been struggling this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight contests, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday' game: Eisenhower has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 238.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Iroquois, though, as they've been averaging only 27.5 per game. How will Iroquois fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Eisenhower against Iroquois in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-6 victory. Does Eisenhower have another victory up their sleeve, or will Iroquois turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
