Basketball Recap: Wilmington Christian Academy Skates Past Liberty Christian Academy with Ease

Wilmington Christian Academy lost to Liberty Christian Academy back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots really took it to the Liberty Christian Academy Heat for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-36 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Wilmington Christian Academy to victory were Jordan Escoffrey and Trent Davies. Escoffrey went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points, while Davies went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Davies is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Mattox, who posted nine points and six assists.

Liberty Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Nyambane, who put up seven points and six steals. Deon Whitner Jr was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Wilmington Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Wilmington Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-43 win against Greenville Christian Academy on the 28th. Liberty Christian Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 67-17 victory against Coastal Brigade on the 28th.
