Sunlake barely beat Hudson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Sunlake blew past Hudson 15-3 on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Sydney Walker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, Kaylee Lively was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. McKinzie Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Sunlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel lost 8-1 to Horizon on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wesley Chapel also got a good showing from Ashley Bolt, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Bolt has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wesley Chapel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliana Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Diaz's first of the season.
Sunlake's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Wesley Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sunlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Wesley Chapel struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
