The Calvary Christian Patriots pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to South Pointe Christian. Calvary Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Pointe Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
South Pointe Christian found their leader in underclassman Aiden Arant, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arant has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Price, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and eight assists.
Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Pointe Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
Calvary Christian will head out on the road to square off against Southeastern Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeastern Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Calvary Christian likes a good challenge. South Pointe Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
