Live Oak hasn't had much luck against Ann Sobrato recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Acorns will venture away from home to challenge the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Live Oak will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Live Oak got the win against Milpitas by a conclusive 11-1. The Acorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Maya Medina spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eden Svoboda was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Tulowitzki, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Live Oak hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive games.
Ann Sobrato's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Leigh on Tuesday. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past Santa Teresa 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 26, 2024.
Amber Rodriguez and Sam Zimmerman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rodriguez didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Zimmerman tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. At bat, Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Zimmerman went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Nava, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Jordan Bouton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Live Oak's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Ann Sobrato, they moved to 6-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Ann Sobrato's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Live Oak has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game.
