The Mary Persons Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 68-20 victory over Crisp County on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Mary Persons has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mary Persons to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaria Wilson, who scored 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Mary Persons' points. Anaja Lucear was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals and three blocks.
Miranda Moore and Paris Daniel certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Moore scored six points along with 11 rebounds, while Daniel scored two points. Moore is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Mary Persons has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Crisp County, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mary Persons will be home for the holidays to greet Locust Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Locust Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Mary Persons is ranked 109th). Crisp County and Deerfield-Windsor will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
