The Messmer Bishops's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 100-85 fall against Living Word Lutheran. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Living Word Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Oliver, who scored 33 points along with nine rebounds. Oliver hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Eric Britton, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds.
Messmer has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Living Word Lutheran, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.
Messmer will head out on the road to square off against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Lake Country Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
