It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Andover Central Jaguars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They beat McPherson by the very same score they won with last week: 28-21. Winning may never get old, but Andover Central sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andover Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Adler, who picked up 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jace Jefferson was another key contributor, throwing for 157 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes.
Andover Central's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for McPherson, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Andover Central will head out on the road to face off against Wamego at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wamego is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Andover Central a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. McPherson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
