The Platte/Geddes Black Panthers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-55 to Freeman. Platte/Geddes was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Freeman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Freeman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cami Fransen, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashlin Jacobsen, who scored 21 points.
Platte/Geddes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Freeman, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Platte/Geddes will be playing in front of their home fans against Andes Central/Dakota Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Freeman, they will head out on the road to face off against Viborg/Hurley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
