Basketball Recap: Logan Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Logan had won two straight games and Desta Rose did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Logan Longhorns were the clear victor by a 58-35 margin over the Texico Wolverines thanks to Rose, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 20 points and eight steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aspen Casey, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Logan pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Texico, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Logan will challenge Fort Sumner/House at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Sumner/House will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Logan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Texico, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hagerman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Texico is facing Hagerman at the right time seeing as Hagerman is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
