Shelbyville Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and the Columbia Central Lions will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Shelbyville Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Spring Hill, posting a 75-41 win at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
It was another big night for Kyler Trice, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tae'shawn Shelton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Columbia Central had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Hickman County.
Shelbyville Central's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Columbia Central, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Shelbyville Central came up short against Columbia Central in their previous matchup on Monday, falling 57-52. Can Shelbyville Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
