The College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 30 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 74-38 win over Winston-Salem Prep. The victory was just what College Prep & Leadership Academy needed coming off of a 63-32 loss in their prior match.
Jayden Davis was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlon Carson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
College Prep & Leadership Academy will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Cornerstone Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they will be playing at home against Bishop McGuinness at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bishop McGuinness' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
