After a string of four wins, the Community School of Davidson Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The match between Community School of Davidson and Lincoln Charter wasn't particularly close, with Community School of Davidson falling 69-53. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Community School of Davidson has scored all season.
Community School of Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Moran, who scored 17 points. Moran scored a full 32.1% of Community School of Davidson's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Williams, who scored six points along with three blocks.
Lincoln Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cairo Morales led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Morales. David Reed IV. was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Community School of Davidson's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Lincoln Charter, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Community School of Davidson will be home for the holidays to greet Corvian Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Corvian Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Community School of Davidson is ranked 71st). As for Lincoln Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
