Valley View added to the longest winning streak in 4A Region 3 this week by beating Pocahontas, 37-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Brookland's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Drake Rainwater threw for 67 and 1 touchdown and Devon Newton had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Blake Yarbrough chipped in 102 yards.
Yarbrough was a passing and rushing force as the Bearcats lost to Highland. Yarbrough's favorite target this week was Newton, who caught 2 passes for 62 yards.
Rainwater put up the best numbers through the air as Brookland fell to the Rebels.
Brookland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bearcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rainwater has thrown for 558 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Yarbrough has 14 catches for 312 yards. Rainwater also leads the league in rushing with 340 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Valley View takes on second place Highland.
Trumann made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,017 from 13,235. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 49-28 victory over the Wildcats last week.
