Centerville is a perfect 10-0 against Latexo since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Centerville will challenge Latexo at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Centerville has four straight victories, Latexo has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when Centerville duked it out with Normangee on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-5.
The team relied heavily on Wyatt Rayburn, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Remington Duck, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Centerville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Latexo couldn't beat Grapeland on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Sandies by a score of 9-8.
John Allee put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Allee was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, William Bird made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tim White, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Latexo now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Centerville, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-1.
Centerville got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Latexo by a conclusive 15-0 score. Does Centerville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Latexo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
