Memphis and Capac are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Yellowjackets will square off against the Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memphis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Memphis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Bad Axe.

The team relied heavily on Keegan Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Memphis: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise.
Memphis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Capac). They came out on top against Genesee Christian on Tuesday by a score of 16-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.
A Howard made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Howard was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, B Tesnow was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. J Owens was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Capac pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Memphis, their record is now 8-4.
Capac's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Memphis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Capac, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Memphis' hitters?
Memphis came out on top in a nail-biter against Capac in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
