The Pinnacle Pioneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Boulder Creek, posting a 95-24 victory at home. Pinnacle has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Heather Stedman was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Moo, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The victory was the ninth in a row for Pinnacle, bringing their record for this year to 19-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Boulder Creek, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Mountain Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Pioneers are ranked 12th). As for Boulder Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The timing is sure in Sunnyslope's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Jaguars have been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
