McClave is 10-0 against Granada since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the McClave Cardinals will get right back to it and host the Granada Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. McClave will be strutting in after a win while Granada will be coming in after a defeat.
McClave scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 67-26 victory over South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on the road. McClave has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.
McClave found their leader in underclassman Abrielle Gomez, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that Gomez posted eight or more assists. McKayla Kiniston was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Granada was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 40-34 to South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]. Granada has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McClave's victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Granada, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Everything went McClave's way against Granada in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as McClave made off with a 52-27 win. Will McClave repeat their success, or does Granada have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
