The Battle Ground Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 79-20 loss at the hands of Union. Battle Ground was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.
Skylar Fridriksson and Haily Navarro certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Fridriksson scored eight points along with eight rebounds, while Navarro scored four points along with five rebounds. Fridriksson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Battle Ground dropped their record down to 3-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Union, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Battle Ground will be playing in front of their home fans against the Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Washington (the Storm are ranked 92nd, while the Tigers are ranked 266th). As for Union, they will head out on the road to square off against the Papermakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camas is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
