Football Recap: Creekview Skates Past Pope with Ease + How To Watch

Creekview won the last time they faced Pope and things went their way on Friday too. The Grizzlies blew past the Greyhounds, posting a 42-14 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

Creekview found their leader in sophomore Landon Barnes, who threw for 114 yards and four TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing. Travis Vines helped Barnes out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards and one score.

Creekview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Pope still got an impressive performance from Hudson Marinko, who rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 95 yards and one TD.

Creekview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.6 points over those games. As for Pope, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Creekview and Pope will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Grizzlies see the field they'll take on River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Pope, their break will end when they face Sequoyah at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
