If the Highland Prep Honey Badgers were riding high off their 89-29 takedown of the Mountainside Wolves last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highland Prep suffered a rough 57-32 loss at the hands of Phoenix Christian on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Highland Prep has scored all season.
Highland Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kohen Hill, who scored ten points along with four steals. Hill hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games. Another player making a difference was Darius McKnight, who scored five points along with five assists and three steals.
Highland Prep's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. As for Phoenix Christian, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Prep and BASIS Phoenix will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Phoenix Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trivium Prep at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. Trivium Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
