Oakville is 0-10 against Taholah since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Oakville Acorns will head out on the road to take on the Taholah Chitwhins at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Oakville has not done well against Lake Quinault recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Oakville breezed by Lake Quinault on the road to the tune of 52-11. That 41 points margin sets a new team best for Oakville this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Forsythe, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Forsythe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Ava Boyd was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Taholah put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past North Beach, posting a 54-24 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Taholah as they're now sitting on four straight.
Oakville's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Taholah, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Oakville was taken down by Taholah 78-21 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Oakville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
