Prairie hasn't had much luck against Otis recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will square off against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. Prairie has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Prairie came up short against Peetz and fell 12-8.
Mason Holloway led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brennon Bringelson, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Otis suffered their biggest defeat since April 24, 2025 on Saturday. They came up short against Flatirons Academy, falling 14-4. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mitchell Stivers was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Price, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Otis' loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Prairie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .496. However, it's not like Otis struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
