Bunker Hill is 2-8 against Bandys since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bunker Hill Bears will look to defend their home court against the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Bunker Hill has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
Bunker Hill suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-31 walloping at the hands of Newton-Conover. Bunker Hill found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
Damireona Burch put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 54.8% of Bunker Hill's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Bandys was able to grind out a solid victory over Newton-Conover on Tuesday, taking the game 49-37.
It was another big night for Rachel Anderson, who scored 23 points along with six steals and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Vaughan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Bunker Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Bandys, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Bunker Hill have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bandys struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 28.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bunker Hill suffered a grim 52-26 defeat to Bandys in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Bunker Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
