The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northwest Cabarrus, who took down 107th ranked Carson, 25-22.
Concord extended the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 7 this week by beating West Rowan, 24-13. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Spiders.
Concord's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keenan Black threw for 145 and 1 touchdown and Cody Murdock had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Rocky Reid contributed 145 yards. Drew Yoos helped Concord's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 39 yards.
Glen Padgett's team's dynamic duo of Black and Murdock proved tough for the Falcons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Yoos helped Concord's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 39 yards.
Reid was a passing and rushing force as the Spiders beat West Rowan. Reid's key target this week was Murdock, who caught 2 passes for 64 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Aaron Kennerly of South Rowan is the league leader in passing yards this season with 926. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Seth Wyrick. The East Rowan star has 28 catches for 442 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Concord takes on the Trojans. The Spiders are in first place, while Northwest Cabarrus is in third place.
The Raiders fell to Hickory Ridge 64-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
