Softball Recap: Somers Has No Trouble Against Croton-Harmon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somers). They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over the Croton-Harmon Tigers on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tuskers with their most commanding win of the season.

Somers got a massive performance out of Julia Peanamanda, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Peanamanda a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Caitlin Fitts, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Somers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Somers pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somers will take on Fox Lane at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Croton-Harmon, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Scarsdale at 4:30 p.m. on May 15.
