It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks can now relate to. They were dealt a 80-17 defeat at the hands of the Lakers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Cornerstone Charter Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while Windermere Prep is ranked 72nd).
Windermere Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Izzy Francis, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Francis scored 15 or more points. Alayiah Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.
Cornerstone Charter Academy now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Windermere Prep, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.
Cornerstone Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Windermere Prep, they will take on The First Academy at TBD on Friday. The First Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Windermere Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
