Monsignor Pace has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Gulliver Prep Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Gulliver Prep took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monsignor Pace, who comes in off a win.
Monsignor Pace never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Goleman last Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 45-2 win over the Gators. Considering Monsignor Pace has won five matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Monsignor Pace's defense and their 4.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Shawn Smith and Davari Williams who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Gulliver Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 41-14 loss at the hands of Carrollwood Day. While losing is never fun, Gulliver Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Carrollwood Day is ranked 18th).
Monsignor Pace is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Gulliver Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Monsignor Pace took a serious blow against Gulliver Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, falling 43-13. Can Monsignor Pace avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
