Montrose waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Mountain View Eagles as they made off with a 23-13 victory. The Meteors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Violet Conning, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Conning is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Rori Gurn, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Conning wasn't the only one making solid contact: Montrose kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
