Taylor has gone a perfect 10-0 against Reading recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will host the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Taylor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Madeira on Monday as they made off with a 20-4 victory. The win was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on three straight.
Emma King was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Elisabeth Shirloh, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Reading waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Wildcats.
The team relied heavily on MJ Graham, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Brooke Androne was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Reading pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Taylor, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Taylor was able to grind out a solid victory over Reading in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
