The Richland Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 54-43 to Wingfield. Richland has not had much luck with Wingfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Martavius Bennett was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Arrington, who scored 18 points.
Richland has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Wingfield, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will take on Lanier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wingfield will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Lawrence County at 11:00 a.m. on January 15th.
