Spanish Fork is 6-1 against Ridgeline since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dons will welcome the Riverhawks at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Ridgeline will be up against a hot Spanish Fork team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Dons never let Emery get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
Spanish Fork's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brinklee Zeeman, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Zeeman hit this season.
Spanish Fork hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ridgeline ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past West Field 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Riverhawks have posted since March 24th.
The team relied heavily on Anne Wallace, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hess, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Ridgeline's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Spanish Fork, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Spanish Fork hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Spanish Fork skirted past Ridgeline 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Riverhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
