The Fairview Warriors fell victim to the Rocky River Pirates''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Pirates on the road and fell 40-0. Fairview's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it six in a row.
Burke Lowry threw for 128 yards on 11 of 21 attempts. Pat Canfield was his top target, picking up 65 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Leading Rocky River to victory were Nick Disalvo and Julian Patti. Disalvo rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Patti threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Fairview's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.8 points per game. As for Rocky River, the win was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rocky River will look to defend their home field on Friday against Clyde at 7:00 p.m. Clyde is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
