Olympian's Andrell Snowden recorded the longest rushing play in Metro - Mesa this season in his game against Chula Vista last week. Snowden scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 320 on the day as his team beat the Spartans.
Olympian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chula Vista, 45-31. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Judd Rachow's team's dynamic duo of Ricky Estevez and Ray Holden proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Estevez threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns and Holden had 160 yards receiving. Richard Walker helped Chula Vista's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 64 yards.
Otay Ranch's Kyle Hawkins and Chris Martin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hawkins has thrown for 1556 yards this season, while Martin, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 39 catches for 1015 yards. Jevante Reed from the Spartans leads the league in rushing with 1104 yards.
Aaron Baltazar of the Eastlake is only 10 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Baltazar has rushed for 990 yards on 109 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in Metro - Mesa this week will be when the Eagles take on the Titans. At the moment, Olympian is in first, while Eastlake is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and John Mcfadden's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Olympian comes in having scored 303 this season, while the Titans have scored 276. The Eagles scored 45 points last week as they beat Chula Vista.
Eastlake took down Bonita Vista 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyrone Stevens threw for 165 yards and one touchdown in the win.
