Damonte Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazmine Monges, who scored 14 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monges has scored all season. Kylee Moscove was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Carson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lauren Finnerty. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Finnerty posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Ashley Waiksnoris, who scored six points.
Damonte Ranch has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Carson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Damonte Ranch will take on the Huskies at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Reno is ranked 41st, while the Mustangs are ranked 23rd). As for Carson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
