Pueblo South's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Analisia Rendon, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Nayeli Soto who scored no points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rendon has scored all season.
Pueblo East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ilyne Avila, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Avila is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Myah Abeyta was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Pueblo South's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Pueblo East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pueblo South will take on the Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
