Basketball Recap: Chaparral Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Chaparral extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Luke Howery. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Rocky Mountain Lobos with a sharp 77-56 victory on Wednesday for which the team can thank Howery, who shot 59% from the field on his way to 28 points and eight boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 21 points.

Another player making a difference was Luke Williams, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Williams is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Rocky Mountain lost, don't look at Barrett Moran. Despite the final result, he posted seven points. Dylan McClelland also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rocky Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will take on Fossil Ridge in a tournament on Friday. The Wolverines' defense better be ready for this one: the SaberCats have averaged an impressive 71.8 points per game this season. As for Rocky Mountain, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
