FORESTVILLE, Md. - A 27-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down
Gwynn Park (Brandywine, Md.) as it put 21 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Forestville Military Academy (Forestville, Md.) 48-0.
The Yellowjackets were up 19-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Trevon Heard in the first quarter.
Gwynn Park expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. GP scored two times in the third, including once on a
Joseph Hayman touchdown run.
With the win the Brandywine school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Yellowjackets defeated the Lions 39-8 last week.
Hayman was the top performer for Gwynn Park. He ran for two touchdowns.
GP had given up an average of 6.4 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Knights ended with were well below their average of 25.1 coming into the game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Yellowjackets came away with a 41-0 victory.
The loss comes after Forestville Military Academy defeated Surrattsville 30-20 last week.
In a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A game next week Forestville Military Academy (5-4) takes on Fairmont Heights, and Gwynn Park (8-1) will go up against Surrattsville also in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A game.
