Dinwiddie extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 12-2. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Prince George Royals, sneaking past 5-3. The Generals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Royals, too.
Matthew Moody and Carmine Rosso dominated on the mound. Moody struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits, while Rosso pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Rosso has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Pfister, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tanner Dean, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Prince George, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 25th.
On Prince George's side, Jack Mozucha put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Mozucha didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Mozucha wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Heath, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Looking ahead, Dinwiddie will be playing at home against Powhatan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Generals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Prince George, they are taking a road trip to square off against Petersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
